Well Drained Ground
For those who want to kick on and practise riding at a competition pace, there are two flagged courses laid out as well as a start box, while more technical combinations can be found in the centre of the complex alongside the water. Well drained soil and excellent grass cover means CXC should be open from early February to early November. We will open during the winter months if the weather and ground conditions allow.
Coloured squares mark the height of the jump with yellow for 60cm, red for 70cm, green for 80cm, blue for 90cm and grey for 100cm. For the safety of other riders, please jump with the red flag on your right. Fences that MUST ONLY be jumped in one direction are marked with a RED SQUARE on the red flag.
For all riders
Freshers Field is a separate area of 60cm fences for young horses or less experienced riders. It sits in one corner of the land with a range of inviting obstacles to help build confidence. There's everything you'll see in the rest of the course but to a smaller scale, including skinnies, a corner, brushes and ditches.
Make a day of it
If you feel like making an outing of your trip, there’s a viewing platform with picnic tables alongside the lorry park. Sometimes, on busy days, there will be complementary hot drinks and home-made flapjacks or brownies.
Easy to find
Situated just off the A4074 between Reading and Wallingford, the new course is easily accessed without any nightmare manoeuvres or single track roads to contend with. Likewise there is plenty of parking for even the largest of lorries in a car park with a vast expanse of brand new tarmac. Our What3words location is Calm.Revamped.Faster
